“Out of Coverage” and “Hama 1982”… Syrian drama is preparing early for the 2027 Ramadan season

Early on, the wheel of filming Syrian drama series, scheduled to be shown in the Ramadan 2027 drama season, which begins in the first week of next February, began, as some Syrian production companies announced their readiness to film a group of works, with the aim of reserving an early place on the Ramadan show map.
At the forefront of these works is the series “Out of Coverage”, which belongs to the category of social comedies, as it is being filmed between Damascus and Tartous, under the supervision of director Amir Mustafa Namo, and it stars a group of Syrian drama stars, including: Fayez Qazaq, Walaa Azzam, Jenny Esber, Wael Zidane, Farah Khadr, Robin Issa, Nawar Bulbul, Tariq Maraachli, Hazem Zidane, Hammam Reda, Jamal Al-Ali, and Maryam. Ali, Susan Skaf, Tolay Haroun, Areej Dawara, and Iman Abdel Aziz. The series is written by Moayad Al-Nabulsi.

The events of the series “Out of Coverage” take place inside one of the “Syrian Countryside” villages, in the Al-Sawda area in the countryside of Tartous, and deals with a group of stories and characters, which reflect the details of daily life in the local environment, where the work raises various social and humanitarian issues within a comedic framework, through situations inspired by reality, and characters whose destinies intersect amid many ironies and wit.
In a related context, director Laith Hajo had completed filming the series “The Enemy Syrians,” which was scheduled to be shown in the Ramadan 2026 drama, but the lack of time made the makers stop filming the series last January, due to the impossibility of showing it in Ramadan 2026. With the decision to postpone the show until Ramadan 2027, filming of the series’ scenes continued, after the series’ makers decided to change its name from “The Enemy Syrians,” which is the novel of the same name by the writer. Fawaz Haddad, to “Hama 1982”, because the series reviews, in its main events, what happened in the city of Hama in 1982, and the repercussions extended to several Syrian cities and governorates for decades to come, up to the year of the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011.
The series “Hama 1982” presents a dramatic treatment, based on three main timelines, starting from the 1970s, through the events of the 1980s, and the sharp political and social transformations it witnessed, all the way to the years preceding 2011.

The story of the series revolves around the fate of two families, whose lives are intertwined in light of the major transformations that the country has witnessed, as the political dispute gradually turns into a social crisis, then into a personal conflict, which is reflected in family relationships and friendships, while the past continues to impose its influence on the children, who find themselves facing the consequences of decisions that they were not a part of. The work stars: Bassam Koussa, Salloum Haddad, Yara Sabry, Fadi Sobeih, Fayez Qazaq, and others.
