Dubai Police launches a master’s program in cybersecurity

Dubai 26 / WAM / Dubai Police Academy announced the launch of the first master’s program in cybersecurity at the level of police academic institutions.

This came during the press conference held by the Academy today, headed by Brigadier Nasser Hamid Al -Zari, Deputy Director of the Acting Dubai Police Academy, Lieutenant -Colonel Khalaf Hassan Al Shamsi, Director of the Deanship of the Academy, Lt. Col. Dr. Khabar Saeed bin Thani Al -Marri, Director of the Information Security Center in Dubai Police, Major Abdullah Al -Rayehi, Director of Admission and Registration Department, and Dr. Ibtisam Al -Awadi, Director of the College of Graduate Studies at the Academy.

Al -Zuri stressed that the new program comes under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al -Marri, Commander -in -Chief of Dubai Police, to constitute a qualitative addition to graduate programs, and keep pace with digital transformations, artificial intelligence, information security and electronic space policies, indicating that the academy since its foundation in 1987 has released 8038 graduates and graduates in various academic programs.

Lieutenant -Colonel Khalaf Al Shamsi indicated that the academy today introduces 3 programs in the Bachelor’s: Law and Police Sciences, Security and Criminal Sciences for candidates, along with a Bachelor of Law for Evening Studies, and in Master’s programs, 9 programs are offered, represented in public law, private law, human rights, law and the environment, trade and international investment law, criminal science, security crises management, Police science in criminal investigation, and finally a master’s degree in cybersecurity, while the Academy offers 5 doctoral programs, in criminal law, public law, private law, security crises management, and philosophy in criminal investigation.

In turn, Lt. Col. Dr. Akhbar Saeed bin Thani Al -Marri stressed that the launch of this program reflects government trends in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, indicating that the program was designed in the context of responding to the requirements of the local and international security reality.

He explained that what distinguishes the program is the dominance of the applied and practical side on the theoretical side.

For his part, Major Abdullah Al -Rayehi explained that those wishing to join the master’s program can register through the website of the Dubai Police Academy, and personal interviews will be made for the applicants, and to ensure that the conditions are matching, including that he is a university with a relationship with a relationship, and holds no less than good, and we are able in the English language, which is available to citizens and non -citizens, provided that the study begins in the middle of September Next.

Dr. Ibtisam Al -Awadi, Director of the College of Graduate Studies at the Dubai Police Academy, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, that the Cyber ​​Security Master program, which is launched by the Academy, is the first of its kind at the level of police colleges in the region, and the first to be presented in the English language, and it is accomplished within only one academic year consisting of three classes, in which the student completes 30 accredited educational hours.

She explained that the program includes advanced axes that include an investigation into electronic crimes, digital criminal evidence, network management and electronic cloud, cyber risk management, artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, in addition to encryption, blushin and global cyber security policies, as well In this vital specialization.

She added that the program is open to the military and civilians from citizens and non -citizens, provided that the admission conditions that include obtaining a Bachelor’s degree with a grade of no less than good, and proficiency in the English language to a degree of at least 5.5 in the IELTS test or its equivalent, pointing out that the tuition fees amount to 60 thousand dirhams for the full academic year.

She emphasized that the program aims to graduate qualified national cadres in the field of cybersecurity, capable of protecting the digital structure in the UAE,

It indicated that the academy aims in the first batch accepting between 15 to 25 students, with the study start in the second week of next September.
