A joint statement of the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus on sending humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza (Amalia)

Based on the humanitarian principles, and to realize the urgent need aimed at mitigating the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza, the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus launched a joint initiative to provide humanitarian assistance to the lives of Palestinian civilians.
In this context, the two sides reiterate their commitment to alleviating the suffering of civilians by continuing to secure the flow of humanitarian aid in a safe and sustainable manner and without obstacles across all available and possible paths, including the additional maritime corridor extending from Cyprus to Gaza (Amania).
The Marine Corridor Initiative (Ama’atia), which started operating in March 2024, comes as a continuation of the joint efforts of the international community aimed at delivering aid, air, air and sea.
Through close operational cooperation between the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPSAnd “International Central Cuble” (WCK) And, based on the mechanism of Security Council Resolution 2720, which provides for facilitation, monitoring and verification of the flow of aid, the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus initiated to send 1,200 tons of aid through the Ashdod port to deliver it to Gaza, which the UAE provides the necessary support through the (Amalia Fund).
This important humanitarian contribution, which also includes assistance from partner countries and international humanitarian organizations, includes providing foodstuffs in a basis for a basic degree, especially for children and wheat flour, as basic necessities to meet urgent needs, especially among the most vulnerable groups.
The two sides renew their joint commitment to continuing closely with international partners to ensure a large -scale aid, through all available tracks in Gaza, in line with international humanitarian law and established human values.
