The Secretary General of the Cooperation Council directs to intensify free trade negotiations

Riyadh, August 31 / WAM / His Excellency Jassim Mohamed Al -Badawi, Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, urged the negotiating team of free trade agreements to redouble efforts to complete the ongoing negotiations with a number of countries.

His Excellency stressed that these efforts aim to achieve common interests and the desired benefits of the peoples of the GCC states, and to consolidate the position of the Cooperation Council as an economic partner on the regional and international arenas.
During the meeting, which was held through visual contact, the Secretary -General briefed on the latest developments in the progress of negotiations and progress made there, reaffirming the full support provided by the General Secretariat of the efforts of the negotiating team.
Al -Badawi highlighted the great importance represented by free trade agreements, considering it an essential engine to advance the march of Gulf economic integration and expand the prospects for cooperation with commercial partners around the world.
