Sudan – Reports of hundreds of death in a landslide in Darfur

The landslide occurred on the thirty -first of August after heavy rains. The UN official, Luca Rinda, offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Sudan “at this tragic time.”

He said that the United Nations and its humanitarian partners are ranging in their efforts to provide support to the affected population.

He stressed that the humanitarian community stands in solidarity with the people of Sudan and will spare no effort to ensure the aid reaching the needy without delay.
