Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation and" International financing" They divorce an initiative to provide sustainable jobs for refugees

Dubai, September 2/ WAM/ The Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, launched a new model that places employment at the core of economic totalitarianism in the Arab countries.
Bilateral cooperation aims to expand the prospects for employment opportunities for refugee youth, internal displaced, marginalized and instead of the traditional models that focus on the short term relief. This model combines charitable capital and private sector experiences to invest in local solutions led by the region and based on market needs.
This model also reflects a growing global consensus in opinions that sustainable livelihoods are a major engine to recover from crises in the long term.
The Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation and the International Finance Corporation, in partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with the support of the Dubai International Financial Center, hosted the second edition of the Forum “A Thousand Star and Star: Jobs for All” in Dubai today.
The forum gathered a group of leaders from the public and private sectors, from development organizations, and from charitable work institutions, to explore practical solutions aimed at creating employment opportunities that are integrated economic in work throughout the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The event included high -level discussion and dialogue sessions, a strategic signing ceremony, and a lunch for acquaintance and building relationships with the aim of enhancing cooperation and encouraging the commitment of employers to partnerships.
Dr. Sonia bin Jaafar, CEO of the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation, confirmed in a statement to “WAM” that the partnership with the International Finance Corporation represents an innovative model that is the first of its kind in the region, aimed at enhancing education and employment opportunities for youth, especially in fragile economies, by integrating charitable financing, development financing and private sector experience, in line with the UAE’s vision in combining charitable work and the business sector.
Bin Jaafar indicated that the new project, which is implemented through the “Abdulaziz Al Ghurair Fund for Refugee Education” in partnership with “Glocalshift” and the International Finance Corporation, will cover Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan, and provides training for about 7,000 young men, at least half of the females, on skills commensurate with the needs of the labor market, in addition to English language skills for business and education Financial support for entrepreneurship, with the availability of the participation of private sector partners through the “One Thousand Star and Star” initiative to expand access to totalitarian job opportunities.
For her part, Hala Sheikh Rouhou, Vice -President of the International Finance for Middle East and Central Asia, said in a statement to “WAM” that the “A Thousand Star and Star” initiative is distinguished by its focus on creating decent job opportunities for youth, women, refugees and people with special needs, which are the most difficult groups in entering the labor market in the region.
She emphasized that the alliance with the Abdullah Al -Ghurair Foundation represents an integrated model that combines innovation in charitable work with the actual requirements of the labor market, to provide practical solutions that address the challenges of unemployment and displacement together.
