A slight rise in inflation in the euro area during August

Frankfurt on September 3 / WAM / European Union Statistics Office data showed that the inflation rate in the eurozone rose to 2.1% in August, compared to 2.0% last July.
The office attributed this rise to the increase in the prices of non -manufactured food, with a decrease in the effect of low energy costs.
On the other hand, the basic inflation rate that excludes food and fuel prices stabilized at 2.3%, exceeding the expectations that indicated a decline at 2.2%.
