Yasmine Yahya .. the designer that brought together East and West

Since her childhood in the Egyptian city of Ismailia, the Egyptian-French designer, Yasmine Yahya, was known for her passion for design and innovation, to later become the creative director of the MAISON YEYA fashion house, who succeeded in leaving her mark on the world scene.

In an interview with the CNN website in Arabic, Yahya talked about the impact of her Egyptian background on the identity of her house, stressing that Eastern women enjoy a unique feminine card that reflects in their designs. She said: “The dress is not just a piece of clothing, but a honor for the female essence associated with my heritage.”

On the world of the Couture, she explained that preserving this art in light of the culture of fast consumption is one of the biggest challenges, which led it to adapt through the expansion of the team and increase productivity while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.

She also talked about the design of wedding dresses, noting that she takes into account the difference in women and the diversity of their characters. On her cooperation with international stars, she said that the experience of working with Jennifer Lopez at the Toronto Film Festival was “amazing”, while describing her cooperation with Krie Tigon as “one of the easiest experiences.”

On the Arab level, she collaborated with stars such as Nelly Karim, Mona Zaki, and Dora Zarrouk, who described them as a strong sense of femininity, each of them has her own style. She was also designed by a wedding dress for actress Amina Khalil, who reflects her general and private personality at the same time.

On the future, Yahya revealed a new fragrance development project that reflects the brand’s vision, as well as a plan to launch the Ready-To-WEAR line for the evening soon, to reach a broader audience while maintaining elegance and craftsmanship.
