المملكة: Indicators and numbers confirm the success of the transportation system in the Hajj season 1447 AH


Confirmed General Authority of Transport that operational and supervisory performance indicators during The Hajj season 1447 AH reflected a high level of readiness and integration between various activities and services Transport, and contributed to enhancing the flow of pilgrims’ movement and raising the quality of services provided to them throughout the season. The authority explained that it had prepared more than 33,000 buses equipped with all safety means and conforming to quality requirements and standards, in addition to more than 5,000 taxis.
It also allocated 32 bus routes between cities, with 1,193 trips per week using 139 equipped buses, providing multiple transportation options that supported the movement of the pilgrims between the main sites and the holy sites.
The authority stated that it had 300 human staff in 50 vital sites to follow up on operational and supervisory work during the season, while the monitoring efforts included implementing more than 400,000 field inspections, and activating more than 950 automated monitoring systems to control the compliance of transport vehicles in Mecca and Medina.

Full commitment to timetables

These efforts contributed to raising the overall compliance rate with land transport requirements and regulations to 90%, while recording The transportation system has high levels of performance, represented by achieving a full compliance rate with train schedules of 100%, and a punctuality rate for inter-city bus trips exceeding 96%.
Within the framework of enhancing the quality of services, the Authority has processed more than 2,500 complaints in the Makkah and Medina regions, and conducted more than 13,000 surveys to measure the level of pilgrims’ satisfaction with transportation services, in a way that supports the development of services and improves the beneficiary’s experience.

Behind these numbers…an integrated work system, continuous field efforts, and a transportation trip that was planned and implemented to serve the guests of God efficiently and reliably.

Indicators of the 1447 AH Hajj season reflect the level of readiness, compliance, and integration between various transportation activities and services, which contributed to enhancing the safety of pilgrims and the smooth flow of their movement throughout the season….

The control efforts also included warning more than 18,000 carriers to correct violations, monitoring more than 90,000 violations, and impounding 1,250 violating vehicles, as part of the measures aimed at raising compliance levels, enhancing safety, and adhering to the regulations and instructions regulating transportation activities.

The Authority confirmed that what was achieved during the Hajj season 1447 AH comes as an extension of the integration between the concerned authorities, and the operational and supervisory readiness of the transportation system, which contributed to providing safe, organized and reliable transportation services to the guests of God, and supporting their journey of faith from their arrival until their departure.
