The “Consumer Protection Ambassadors” initiative comes out the first batch of young national competencies

Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Trade, stressed the ministry’s keenness to continue to adopt strategic initiatives inspired by an ambitious vision aimed at enhancing a responsible consumer culture, and preserving the rights and duties of the consumer, driven by the firm belief in the importance of investing in the capabilities of youth, and their passion for the active contribution to achieving sustainable development goals.

This came during the honoring of graduates of the first batch of the National Initiative “Consumer Protection Ambassadors”, which was launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and extended during the months of July and August 2025, with the aim of continuing to enable Bahraini youth to contribute to strengthening the consumer environment through theoretical training in commercial laws and regulations, and practical application by receiving complaints and direct dealing with consumers.

The Minister of Industry and Trade pointed to the efforts of the graduates of the program, and the field experiences they gained that contribute to consolidating consumer awareness, and reflecting their efficiency and willingness to assume responsibility and active participation in community service and enhance confidence between the consumer and the concerned authorities.

He explained that the participation of the commercial sector, represented by the Youssef Khalil Al -Moayad and Sons Company and the International Company, contributed to enriching the experience through field visits and practical training opportunities, which resulted in attracting a number of participants, in a model that embodies the constructive partnership between the public and private sectors to support national competencies.

For her part, Rawan bint Naguib Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, confirmed that the “Bahraini Youth Ambassadors” initiative comes within the framework of the national approach aimed at continuing to empower young people and highlight their creative energies in various development fields, adding that the program constitutes a qualitative platform for refining skills and qualifying young leaders, to be ambassadors representing their country in regional and international forums.

The Minister of Youth Affairs added that the program brought together specialized academic training and practical field visits, which enabled the participants to acquire realistic experiences and leadership skills that enhance their influential presence, wishing them continued success in achieving the desired visions and aspirations.
