After a year of full commercial operation .. Paraka stations produce 120 Taerawat of clean electricity

Today, Emirates Nuclear Energy Company celebrated the full operation of all Baraka nuclear energy stations, whose four reactors are based Apr 1400 By providing 25% of the UAE’s electricity needs without carbon emissions, to continue its pivotal contribution to providing clean basic load electricity, and ensuring energy security and its sustainability.

During the past twelve months, Baraka stations produced 40 Teroat per hour of clean electricity, which provided reliable energy and around the clock for homes, business sectors and technology sectors in the country, while the stations have produced more than 120 Terwat since the operation of the first station until now, which is equivalent to the demand for electricity in New York City.

The stations continue to lead efforts to reduce the carbon fingerprint as the largest clean energy source in the region and in addition to providing enough clean electricity to more than 574 thousand homes in the UAE, Barakah stations play a pioneering role in the state’s transition to clean energy sources, by reducing 22.4 million tons of carbon emissions annually.

The stations have been able to reduce up to 58 million tons of carbon emissions, since the operation of the first station until now, which is equivalent to removing about 12 million cars from roads.

Baraka stations have become a global model as one of the most efficient and successful new nuclear energy projects within the timetable and the appropriate cost in modern history, and it has proven that the huge peaceful nuclear energy projects can be developed safely, efficiently and transparently, while reducing costs, time and employment by 40% between the first and fourth stations.

On this occasion, Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director, CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, said that after a year of full operation of the four nuclear power stations of Baraka, clean and reliable energy was provided around the clock and this achievement was achieved thanks to the long -term vision of rational leadership, in addition to sustainable investment, and the efficiency of teams that operate according to the highest standards.

Al Hammadi added that the company is building on this achievement by investing experiences through international partnerships, to help other countries and companies to realize the pivotal role of peaceful nuclear energy in meeting the increasing demand for electricity and during the past five years, the UAE added the greatest amount of per capita clean electricity compared to any other country in the world, and 75% of this added electricity produced by Baraka stations, and the stations also play an essential role in helping Emirati companies to reduce Carbon emissions, by providing 85% of the clean electricity needed for clean energy certificates in Abu Dhabi, and companies such as “ADNOC”, “MSIL”, and “Emirates International Aluminum” buy them to document their products as low carbon emissions, and this includes the first low -carbon emissions produced by “Emirates International Aluminum” recently under the name “Minimal”.

He stressed that the stations contributed to the development of significant Emirati competencies and expertise in the nuclear energy sector, and more than 2,000 Emiratis participated in developing and operating stations since the beginning of their development in cooperation with international experts.
