Egypt achieves an increase of 50 million cubic feet of gas per day from a new well in Western Sahara

Cairo, September 8 / WAM / The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced the start of the production of natural gas from a new well in Western Sahara, at a rate of 50 million cubic feet per day.
This achievement falls within Egypt’s efforts to increase local production and reduce dependence on import to achieve self -sufficiency.
The new well comes as a fruit for cooperation between the “Khaleda Petroleum” company and its partner “Apache”, a partnership that has succeeded in adding more than 200 million cubic feet per day in less than a year.
The Ministry confirmed that this progress was achieved thanks to the package of investment incentives granted to foreign partners and the adoption of modern technologies that contributed to improving production efficiency.
