The Security Council holds an open session on "The future of peace operations"
The Security Council will hold an open discussion on the United Nations peace operations entitled & quot; the future of peace operations & rdquo;: issues, opportunities and major challenges & quot; In the context of reviewing the future of all forms of United Nations peace operations.
& nbsp; And the Secretary -General of Political Affairs and Peace Building Affairs Rosemary Decardo; Chairman of the Peace Building Committee, Ambassador Thomas Zanisen (Germany); And Jenna Rousseau, director of research and head of the Brian Orkharrt Center for Peace Operations at the International Peace Institute. To highlight the United Nations peace operations in the work of the Council, and during its presidency of the Security Council last March, Denmark held an open discussion on & quot; enhancing the ability to adapt to the United Nations peace operations: responding to the new facts & quot; and in July, Pakistan also organized a briefing session entitled & quot; adapting peace operations in order to seek political solutions & ndash; Priorities and challenges & quot; as part of its presidency of the Security Council.
