The UAE continues its urgent relief support for Afghanistan

The UAE continues its humanitarian efforts to support the friendly Afghan people in the wake of the earthquake that struck the eastern regions of the country.

The Joint Operations Command in the Ministry of Defense is working in accelerating steps, to equip a humanitarian aid ship loaded with thousands of tons of food, shelter and medical materials, within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him” in supporting the Afghan people.

The ship is being equipped in coordination with a number of charitable and humanitarian institutions and bodies in the UAE, in an embodiment of the concerted national efforts and the integration of roles between the various concerned authorities to provide urgent relief support to Afghanistan.

The Joint Operations Command emphasized that these efforts reflect the permanent commitment of the UAE to stand by the afflicted peoples, and to continue its pioneering role in the field of humanitarian and relief action at the regional and international levels.
