Korea exports increased by 3.8% during the first 10 days of September

Seoul on September 11/ WAM/ The Republic of Korea’s exports increased by 3.8% on an annual basis, during the first ten days of September, thanks to the strong demand for semiconductors and ships, according to data issued today by the Korean Customs Authority.

The Korean “Yonhap” news agency reported that the country’s exports amounted to 19.2 billion dollars during the period from the first of September to 10 of the same month, an increase of 3.8% from 18.5 billion dollars during the same period of the previous year, while the average value of daily exports decreased by 8.7% on an annual basis during the same period, according to the authority’s data.

She added that imports jumped by 11.1% to $ 20.4 billion during the same period, which led to a commercial deficit of $ 1.2 billion.

She pointed out that during last August, exports grew by 1.3% on an annual basis to reach 58.4 billion dollars, thanks to the strong global demand for semiconductors.
