37% growth in the number of new professional licenses in Ajman during the first half

Ajman on September 11/ WAM/ Statistics of the Department of Economic Development in Ajman showed 37% growth with the number of new professional licenses during the first half of 2025, which reflects the improvement of the absorptive capacity of the economy and the continued attractiveness of the business environment in the Emirate of Ajman.
According to the report issued by the Ajman Competitiveness Office, the new licenses issued in the first half of 2025 increased by 24%, including industrial, by 11%, and commercial with 9%, while renewed licenses witnessed 8% growth, including commercial licenses by 9% and industrial licenses for the same, while professional licenses grew by 8% during the same period, compared to the previous year.
The office stressed that this increase in licensing renovation rates reflects the keen on business owners to continue and enhance their presence in the local market, and the growing investor confidence in the emirate’s economy, pointing to the growth of the number of new investors by 24% compared to the same period in the past year, which supports the emirate’s efforts to enhance competitiveness and attract more investments that strengthened the total total growth of effective licenses that grew by 8% during the first half compared to the beginning of the general 2025.
The report revealed the most important nationalities of licenses, which are two new nationalities (Ethiopia and Sudan), which were solved on the ten list, and these two nationalities were not part of the list in previous years, which indicates the growth of the diversity of investors and the expansion of the business base in the emirate.
His Excellency Saif Ahmed Al -Suwaidi, Director General of the Department of Economic Development in Ajman said: “These indicators reflected the success of government efforts in consolidating Ajman’s position as an attractive destination for investment and entrepreneurship, thanks to the qualitative initiatives launched by the department to enhance the business environment and simplify procedures.
He added that this comes within the framework of the government trend towards the bureaucracy, ensuring the provision of smart, rapid and transparent services that keep pace with the aspirations of the customers and support the competitiveness of the emirate, noting that the growth registered in effective licenses comes as a reflection of the confidence of investors in the local market, and confirms the durability and integrity of the national economy with the targets of Ajman 2030 vision.
His Excellency explained that the Department of Economic Development continues its efforts to support entrepreneurs, empower national projects, and enhance the sustainability of economic growth, in a way that contributes to the consolidation of Ajman’s competitiveness at the local and regional levels.
