The UAE tops Egyptian non-oil export markets in 2025

Cairo, January 28 / WAM / The United Arab Emirates topped the list of the largest receiving markets for Egyptian non-oil exports during the year 2025, in a direct reflection of the depth of the economic and trade partnership between the two countries, and the role of the Emirati market as a main hub for the access of Egyptian products and supporting the mutual trade and investment movement.

This came in a review by Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, of his country’s foreign trade indicators during the year 2025, explaining that non-oil exports rose by 17% to record 48 billion and 567 million dollars, indicating that imports amounted to 83 billion and 14 million dollars, while the deficit in the trade balance decreased by 9% to record 34 billion and 447 million dollars compared to the previous year.

He pointed to the significant increase in gold exports during the year 2025 to reach 7 billion and 600 million dollars, an indicator that reflects the growing contribution of high-value sectors to the export structure.

He stressed that the ministry aims to increase Egyptian exports to reach $145 billion annually, improve foreign trade indicators and enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
