A human disaster – humanitarian agencies calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and protection from forced displacement

The team* – which includes United Nations agencies and more than 200 local and international non -governmental organizations – said that this escalation comes two weeks after the confirmation of famine in Gaza City and the surrounding areas.
He added in a press statement: “While the Israeli authorities unilaterally declared a region in the south as ‘humanitarian’, they have not taken effective steps to ensure the safety of those who were forced to move to the region, and the size and scope of services are not suitable for supporting those there as well as the new expatriates.
In light of the continuous Israeli restrictions, the team stressed the need to expand human access to include direct roads to the north and south, and to open fuel and water supplies.
The team sent a message to families in Gaza, in which he confirmed that the humanitarian community remains in Gaza City for the longest possible period, and it will continue its work throughout the sector and do everything possible to provide relief and saving services for life.
He called on the international community to work and call for an immediate ceasefire and respect for international humanitarian law, including the release of hostages and arbitrary detainees.
The humanitarian team said that the disaster in Gaza is man -made, “and the responsibility falls upon all of us.”
