A memorandum of understanding to enhance space cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of Colombia

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center signed a memorandum of understanding with both the Independent Regional Authority in Condeenamarka and the Colombian Space Agency, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of space science and technology between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Colombia.

The signing of this memorandum came during an official visit by a delegation from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center to the Republic of Colombia, in the presence of Mohammed Abdullah bin Khater Al -Shamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Colombia.

The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Salem Humaid Al -Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, Dr. Alfred Ignasio Baltiros, Director General of the Independent Regional Authority in Condeenamarka, and Dr. Belar Zamora, founder and executive director of the Colombian Space Agency.

This memorandum aims to develop a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two sides in several fields, including supporting scientific research and joint innovation, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the fields of space science, as well as enhancing the mechanisms for exchanging space data between the two countries.

The Memorandum of Understanding also seeks to develop human capabilities and build national competencies in both countries, through the implementation of joint scientific and technical projects that contribute to supporting space exploring and developing advanced technology, in order to enhance the contribution of the two countries in developing the global space sector.

The signing of this memo comes within the framework of the national strategy of the United Arab Emirates aimed at consolidating its position as a leading state in the space sector, by strengthening international partnerships and exchanging experiences with various countries and international institutions working in this vital sector.
