The Director General of the Family Development Foundation, Maryam Mohamed Al -Rumaithi, said: “The care of senior citizens is a strategic priority for the institution that continues its efforts to improve the quality of their lives and support their social and psychological stability in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, based on the vision and directives It is to enable this group to live in a safe environment that appreciates their experiences and involves them in the development process. “

Al -Rumaithi indicated that the service contributes to strengthening the happiness and well -being of the senior citizens, by enabling the main care provider of his parents to obtain housing units to establish them in his residence, according to the requirements and standards approved by the Municipalities and Transport Department, in a way that enhances family bonding and provides an appropriate residential environment.

She praised the efforts of the Community Development Department and the Department of Municipalities and Transport, in enabling those in charge of their relatives to obtain a permit to accredit housing units for special cases.

Al -Rumaithi explained the need for senior citizens to be among the people who are over the age of 60 in accordance with the national policy of senior citizens, and that the applicant and his parents are citizens of the United Arab Emirates, and from the holders of the family data issued by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and they reside in a permanent residence, and that the applicant is the main care provider for senior citizens, and he has a relative of their first degree (son or daughter), and he resides with them permanent residence in the residence, and he is responsible Provide care for them.

For his part, the Director General of Operations Affairs at the Municipalities and Transport Department, Dr. Salem Al -Kaabi said: “This service comes within the framework of the efforts of the Municipalities and Transport Department to enhance the quality of life and support the stability of families in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, by providing an appropriate residential environment that takes into account the needs of senior citizens and enhances family bonding. Service.

He added: “Our cooperation with the Department of Community Development and the Family Development Corporation reflects the common vision in enabling community members to perform their humanitarian and national role in caring for parents, within the framework of an organized and integrated according to the best practices concerned with safety standards, allocating the appropriate spaces, easy access and movement, and others.”
