Understanding between “Mohammed bin Rashid Space” and two Colombian bodies

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center signed a memorandum of understanding with both the Independent Regional Authority in Condeenamarka and the Colombian Space Agency, to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of space science and technology between the UAE and the Republic of Colombia.
During an official visit by the center’s delegation, the memo was signed to Colombia, in the presence of the State Ambassador to Colombia, Mohamed Abdullah bin Khater Al -Shamsi, the Director General of the Center, Eng. Salem Hamid Al -Marri, and the Director General of the Independent Regional Authority in Condeenamarka, Dr. Alfred Ignasio Baltiros, and the founder and executive director of the Colombian Space Agency, Dr. Belar Zamora.
The memorandum aims to develop a comprehensive framework for cooperation that includes supporting scientific research and joint innovation, exchanging knowledge and experiences in space science, and enhancing the mechanisms for exchanging space data between the two countries, and seeks to develop human capabilities and build national competencies in the two countries through the implementation of joint scientific and technical projects, which contribute to supporting space exploring and developing advanced technology, in a way that promotes their contribution to the global space sector.
The signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of the UAE’s strategy to establish a leading state in the space sector by strengthening international partnerships, and exchanging experiences with various countries and international institutions working in this vital sector.
