Emirati swimming continues to shine and return strongly from the Arab Championship portal

Abu Dhabi, September 12/ WAM/ Swimming in the UAE continues to consolidate its position at the regional and Arab levels, after achieving distinguished results in the fourth Arab Championship for Sunni Ages, which was hosted by the city of Casablanca in the Kingdom of Morocco recently, where the national team concluded its participation by winning 11 various medals, including five gold medals, five silver, in addition to one bronze, as well as registering five new records.
During the competitions, the swimmer, Rahim, appeared in his request in the category of 17-18 years, as he won three gold medals in 800 meters, 400 meters, and 1500 meters free, shattered three new records in these distances, and the silver of the 200-meter free race won.
In the same context, the swimmer Hussein Shawky starred by achieving two golds of 50 meters butterfly and 50 meters free, shattering two new records, as well as the silver of the 100 -meter butterfly race, to form with his colleague a model to be followed in excellence and sporting discipline.
The strong return to the Emirati swimming confirms that the game is going in the right track towards the consolidation of its presence in the international arena, thanks to the integration of roles between the federation, clubs, coaches and families, which promises more successes during the coming period.
The UAE is abundant with a constellation of swimming champions who contributed to the consolidation of the state’s presence in regional and international forums, most notably the swimmer Youssef Al -Matroushi, who participated in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, and qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, in addition to the brothers Obaid, Saeed, Bakhit, Faisal Al Jasmi, and the swimmer Salem Ghaleb, nicknamed “Emirati swimming”, along with Muhammad Al -Ghafri, who was distinguished by his representation For national teams in three different sports.
A number of names that played a pivotal role in the national swimming march, such as veteran Obaid Al -Zaabi, and Jacob Al -Saadi, who have played important international experiences, in addition to the new generation of swimmers who make up the future of the game and send hope in the continuation of the march of excellence.
The swimming sector in the country has continuous support from the Emirates Swimming Federation, which is making great efforts in discovering and refining talents, and providing an integrated training environment that contributes to preparing heroes who are able to raise the banner of the state in various forums, as well as support sports clubs and family care that are an essential element in developing sporting performance of young people.
The results of the Emirati participation in the last Arab championship reflect a clear commitment to the plans to develop the game and sustain the successes, as the medals and records that have been achieved are a great moral incentive for the technical and administrative bodies and players to move forward towards achieving wider goals at the continental and international levels.
Abdullah Al -Wahaibi, Chairman of the Business Running Committee in the Emirates Swimming Federation, stressed that what was achieved in the Arab Championship represents an important achievement and a strong return to Emirati swimming sport to the fore, praising the distinguished performance provided by the players of the national team in various categories.
He said that the honorable levels presented by our children reflects the ambitious vision and the plans of the Federation aimed at developing the game and sponsoring clubs, stressing that these results are not just numbers, but rather important stations that reflect the seriousness of work and proper planning, and open the way for external posts with greater confidence and ambition.
He added that the federation will continue to build these achievements by expanding the base of practitioners, intensifying preparation and rehabilitation programs, and raising the level of readiness to compete in continental and international championships, in order to enhance the UAE’s position in water sports at the Arab and Asian levels.
For his part, Rahim, his request, expressed his pride in the results he achieved during his participation in the Arab Championship, indicating that these achievements are the result of integrated collective efforts, which started with intensive training and technical support, leading to moral support from the family and the federation.
He said that achieving medals and records is a great incentive for him to continue in daily training and seek to reach the coronation platforms at the continental and global levels.
For his part, swimmer Hussein Shawky stressed that the sport of swimming in the Emirates is moving in a confident pace towards more achievements, pointing out that what was achieved in the Arab championship reflects the size of the efforts made and increasing interest from various sides, and constitutes a solid base to build a bright future for the game.
He expressed his pride in his distinguished results with his colleagues, and his optimism to achieve more in the future in the presence of promising talents in various Sunni groups that enhance the ability of Emirati swimming to compete in all Gulf and Arab championships, and pave the way for reaching the world.
