Emirates Airlines opens a new pilot training center

Dubai, September 16/ WAM/ Emirates Airlines announced the opening of its new pilot training center, in line with the tanker strategy in expansion and growth.
The center will provide training for current and future pilots on the growing carrier of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X.
The center extends over an area of 63318 square feet, and includes six devices for full airline simulations, and is located in a strategic location near other training facilities for Emirates Airlines in Dubai, to be part of an integrated work environment that supports the professional and personal development of employees.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme President of the CEO of the Emirates Airlines and the group, said that the new pilot training center plays a pivotal role in the aviation industry system, and supports Dubai’s ambitions as a global aviation center.
His Highness continued, that the center represents a qualitative shift in air training, and is considered one of the most advanced in the world, through which training programs were designed for our future fleet.
He added, “We are happy that the pilots and trainers expressed their complete satisfaction and praised the quality of the training provided, which is the fruit of our efforts and an affirmation of the value of our investments of 500 million dirhams.”
Emirates pilots have a unique opportunity to benefit from the new center, as flight simulations are equipped with the innovative “pilot support station”, the first of its kind in the level of industry and fully developed internally, to enhance the training experience.
Before the start of the training session, pilots can prepare the cockpit and build the flight plan in a complete interactive environment using custom devices, which reduces the preparation time and allows them to fully focus during the training, and the sessions are completely recorded, and the trainer can return any part of it to review performance and enhance learning.
The center is also characterized by advanced 3D printing capabilities, allowing the manufacture of complex pieces and structures to support training equipment, which contributes to achieving savings of one million dirhams annually.
The center has started training pilots using two complete A350 aircraft simulations, with plans to add four other simulations during the next two years, including Boeing 777X simulations.
Each simulation allows to provide 7500 training hours for about a thousand pilots annually, and when the six sites are operated, pilots will have access to 17 training simulation devices, including 11 simulation devices for Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.
With all training facilities, the training capacity of Emirates Airlines will increase by 54% to provide 130,000 training hours annually.
