“Dua” discusses with a Korean delegation to cooperate in renewable energy

The Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority «Diwa), Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, received a high -level delegation from the Intech City Council in Korea, headed by the President of the Council, Kim Yoo Ko, and focused on the meeting on enhancing cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, sustainability and smart infrastructure.

The visit aimed to see the initiatives implemented by Dubai in the field of energy transformation, exploring the prospects for joint cooperation, and the Korean delegation listened to an explanation about the authority’s vision and its ambitious map to increase the percentage of clean and renewable energy within the power mix in Dubai.

Al -Tayer highlighted a number of the authority’s projects, most notably the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex, the largest solar energy complex in one location in the world in one location, and its current production capacity is 3860 MW, and the green hydrogen project, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to produce hydrogen using solar energy.

Al -Tayer stressed the importance of exchanging international experiences in line with Dubai’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships to accelerate the move towards a sustainable green economy.

Al -Tayer also talked about the authority’s experience in developing an infrastructure capable of adapting climate change, such as the electrical station project with water energy technology stored in Hatta, which is the first of its kind in the Arab Gulf region. He also reviewed the leadership of the authority in developing an integrated smart infrastructure, covering the production, transport and distribution sectors, dependent on artificial intelligence and data analyzes to predict breakdowns and improve efficiency. Discussions dealt with the advanced smart body network equipped with automatic and self -repair capabilities to enhance reliability and efficiency, in addition to smart water and electricity networks that enable dealers to benefit from immediate data to enhance consumption efficiency.

The delegation visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex, where he was briefed on the latest technologies used, including bipolar panels and solar tracking systems.

Anchon’s delegation shared its vision on green energy policies and smart networks in South Korea, stressing the potential of integration and building sustainable cities capable of facing future challenges.
