"Climate change and the environment" complexity "Nature Hama Council" To mobilize international environmental efforts

New York on September 24/ WAM/ The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in cooperation with the International Federation for Nature Conservation, hosted the first version of the “Nature’s Council” on the sidelines of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Council presented to the global public a multilateral diplomatic experience according to the traditional Emirati Council model, as it witnessed an open dialogue to discuss ways of cooperation in preparation for the World Conference for the Conservation of Nature 2025 hosted by the capital Abu Dhabi next October.
Under its umbrella, the Council gathered a high -ranking elite of decision makers and experts, which included a group of Excellencies, ministers, ambassadors and envoys concerned with nature for a number of countries participating in the work of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as representatives of major international organizations, foremost of which is the “International Federation for Nature Preservation”, to discuss ways to address urgent crises of climate change and loss of biological diversity.
His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, confirmed in her speech during the opening of the Council the UAE’s commitment to pluralism and environmental responsibility.
She pointed to the importance of biological diversity and the necessity of collective work to protect and preserve it, stressing that the UAE has a firm legacy in the field of environmental responsibility and innovative environmental work, which makes it a leading global power in the field of preserving nature, while the World Conference for Conservation of Nature, which we host in Abu Dhabi next month, will be an important global platform to accelerate environmental protection efforts and mobilize the necessary efforts to address the crisis of loss of diversity Biological through multilateral partnerships and international cooperation.
His Excellency Al -Dahhak stressed the need to reduce the existing gap between ambition and achievement in the field of preserving nature, and she said in this regard: “It has not been too late, and we have to overcome obstacles to move forward in building a green world in which environmental systems flourish. By uniting our efforts, we can achieve our obligations and launch effective initiatives to preserve the environment, and ensure a sustainable future for nature and humanity alike.”
For its part, His Excellency Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the International Federation for Nature Preservation, spoke about the value provided by the International Federation and its next conference.
She said that the World Conference for the Conservation of Nature 2025 in Abu Dhabi will be a milestone for raising the level of ambition and turning cooperation into tangible work, from work together, by providing bold solutions that meet the interconnected needs of nature and human being, while ensuring that our efforts are comprehensive, fair and fair, and based on scientific foundations, indicating work, more than ever, as one community for a prosperous future for all.
The Council witnessed three interventions delivered by representatives of the original peoples, youth, and the United Nations, followed by an open session in which the opportunity to speak to all the participants under the administration of Hajar Bakhit Al -Ketbi, Director of Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
The session witnessed a fruitful dialogue in which the attendees exchanged views, ensuring strong invitations to effective environmental work, and exemplary examples of leadership and innovation were reviewed that can be based on building a positive future for nature.
His Excellency Dr. Amna Al -Dahhak concluded the event with a brief speech in which she expressed her happiness with the rich dialogue and the spirit of cooperation that prevailed in the council.
Her Excellency said that the UAE renews its commitment to strengthening these partnerships, and we are pleased to meet you all in Abu Dhabi next month to continue building on the foundations that we have established today, and translating these rich discussions into real cooperation and concrete obligations.
The visions, relationships and obligations that resulted in the “Nature’s Council” will contribute to formulating the priorities of the World Conference for Nature Conservation 2025 in Abu Dhabi, which aims to achieve a tangible positive impact.
It is expected that partnerships and work frames from the conference will contribute to developing a positive agenda to preserve nature by linking climate work with the efforts to preserve biological diversity, with a focus during the coming years on flexibility, fairness and innovation.
