Economic facilities that enhance the flexibility and growth of the hospitality sector, hotels and the business community in Dubai

Within the framework of the approval by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, this week of a wide range of economic facilities worth one billion dirhams, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, comes a set of economic facilities. Targeted at the hospitality sector and business community in Dubai, with the aim of enhancing the flexibility of companies and enabling them to face challenges in the short term and restore growth momentum.
The facilities directed to the hospitality sector and business community in Dubai include allowing hotels to postpone payment of full room, food and beverage sales fees and tourism dirhams for a period of three months, starting from April 1, 2026. The decision includes various hospitality establishments, including hotels, hotel apartments and holiday homes.
The initiative aims to reduce financial burdens and enhance liquidity in the hospitality and tourism sectors, in a way that supports business continuity during the coming period.
The facilities, which are valid for three months starting from April 1, also include postponing a number of fees related to business licenses, including license fees for optional applications such as a foreign name, amendment fees, advertising fees for commercial licenses and their amendments, local fees for commercial licenses, employee and worker housing fees, as well as public cleaning services, and also improving services, as these facilities can be used in the event of issuing new licenses or renewing existing ones. Companies will be provided with a new update at the end of the three-month period covered by these procedures.
Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, Helal Saeed Al Marri, said: “This initiative reflects Dubai’s economic model based on flexibility, clarity and cooperation, especially since the speed of adopting and implementing these facilities as a larger part of the facilities allocated to Dubai’s economy is clear evidence of the wise leadership’s keenness to reduce the financial burden on the business community and stimulate the economy. In light of the close cooperation between the public and private sectors, the tourism sector in Dubai, and the economic sector in particular, has achieved growth over the past few years as a result of continuous communication with the relevant authorities in the sector and preparedness. “To understand the challenges and opportunities available, and quickly adopt policies that will stimulate growth and enhance resilience.”
For his part, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, affiliated with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, Issam Kazim, said: “These facilities come in direct response to the comments of our partners in the tourism sector, which will contribute to enhancing the sector’s ability to continue growth, as over the past weeks there has been close communication with the relevant authorities in the tourism sector, which dealt with exceptional challenges. While we praise the flexibility they have shown, we value the role they have played in maintaining high levels of quality of services and offers.” Tourism that the city is famous for.
For his part, Executive Director of the Dubai Commercial Registration and Licensing Corporation, affiliated with the department, Ahmed Khalifa Al Qaizi Al Falasi, said: “Dubai has gained global confidence as a leading city for trade and business as a result of its focus on the needs of companies and business owners, and its rapid response to making the required changes and developing the system to achieve common interests. Giving companies additional flexibility during the coming months will enable them to focus on their strategic priorities and enhance the sustainability of their operations in the long term.”
The economic facilities also included extending grace periods for customs data, as well as simplifying procedures for issuing and renewing residence permits.
