Sharp criticism of De Vance’s wife ignites the American media scene

Sharp statements and criticism sparked widespread controversy in American media circles, after the two presenters of “The View” attacked the wife of the US Vice President, Osha Vance, accusing her of abandoning her principles for the sake of power, just one day after she appeared on the “Today Show” and made statements that attracted attention.
In an episode broadcast on March 31, Sunny Houston and Joy Behar launched a scathing attack on Osha Vance, 40 years old, considering that she had abandoned her personal principles and convictions in order to achieve gains related to power.
While Houston pointed out the religious difference between Osha and her husband, J.D. Vance, Behar called Osha a “hypocrite.”
When Houston asked her if she thought Osha had completely changed her beliefs for her husband, Behar replied that she was driven by an “addiction to power.”
This escalation came after a recent television interview by Usha, in which she left the “Today Show” presenter in a state of confusion following an unexpected statement.
Houston recalled previous statements by J.D. Vance during an event organized by Turning Point USA at the University of Mississippi, where he spoke about his wife’s religion (Hinduism), expressing his hope that she would share his Christian faith one day.
On the other hand, Osha previously confirmed that she does not intend to change her religion, which Houston considered difficult to accept in light of what she described as the “existential crisis” that the United States is going through, stressing the necessity of compatibility of values between spouses in such circumstances.
During the discussion, Behar pointed to what she described as major shifts in the American political landscape, expressing her astonishment at some people abandoning their previous convictions for the sake of influence or money. When the possibility was raised that Osha had acted out of support for her husband’s political ambitions, Behar confirmed this view, adding that she also seeks the privileges associated with power.
Houston also saw that Osha’s actions seemed contradictory to her background, as she is a lawyer and graduate of Yale University, and was enjoying an independent life, before she changed, as she described, suddenly.
On the other hand, American comedian Whoopi Goldberg defended Osha, saying that she has many responsibilities and pressures, especially with her due date approaching, pointing out that pregnancy is not an easy matter, and that her personal circumstances should be taken into account.
In an interview with NBC News on the Today Show, Osha Vance confirmed that she has never been pressured to change herself, stressing that she has been the same person since 2014, and added that she does not feel the need to demonstrate or adopt positions other than her convictions, explaining that her opinions may sometimes intersect with different trends, and other times they are her own.
Goldberg commented on the controversy, saying that such issues escalate over time, stressing that every person has his own life, and that everyone is trying to do his best, stressing that she does not bear any anger towards a woman who seeks to live her way.
Osha talked about her daily life, noting that she may sometimes attract attention while shopping in simple clothes, but most of the time she moves freely without being recognized. She also mentioned that she visits local stores and has a membership in the Costco store, which surprised the interviewer, Kate Snow, who was surprised by this information.
It is noteworthy that Osha Vance, a lawyer and mother of three children, is expecting her fourth child, after announcing her pregnancy last January, at a time when controversy continues over her role and positions in light of her husband’s political career.
