Jebel Ali Port receives the largest environmentally friendly vehicle carrier in the world

Dubai Ports Group “DPDDDDD” received the “M. in. Huig Sanraiz, “the largest and latest environmentally friendly carriers in the world, which is intended for charging cars and trucks, which was installed in the port of Jebel Ali for the first time coming from Europe, with 1,200 vehicles on board.
The “Aurora” category is one of the first tankers designed to achieve carbon neutrality, with the possibility of operating them in the future using clean fuel types, such as ammonia and methanol, which makes them set a new standard for sustainable marine transportation for long distances.
This carrier is characterized by its ability to transport up to 9100 cars, while reducing carbon emissions by 58% for each vehicle shipped, compared to the current criteria approved by its counterparts from vehicle transport ships.
On this occasion, it was held in the port of Jebel Ali, a ceremony for the exchange of memorial shields, in the presence of the Vice President, public shipping and rolling in the “DB and the Gulf Cooperation Council states”, Ahmed Badri, and the head of regional commercial operations at the “Huig Outolanors” company for the Middle East, Africa, India and Europe, Atano Mayiti.
“The arrival of the ship to Dubai is strengthening the emirate’s position as a global center for the auto sector, and through our handling of the largest and latest vehicle vector, we have contributed to pushing the shift towards a more sustainable supply chains, and we provide support to more than 940 companies operating in the automotive sector based (Jafza) its headquarters.”
For his part, Andreas Ingger’s CEO, Andreas Ingger, said that “the design of the” Aurora “category is to accelerate the shift towards sustainable marine shipping, and cooperation with the leading centers, such as Jebel Ali Port, is a pivotal step in achieving this goal, allowing the company’s dealers interested in sustainability to transport their goods in a reliable manner, while reducing their carbon imprint.”
During the year 2024, the DB World recorded a record in the vehicle handling in Dubai, where it dealt with 1.3 million cars, an increase of 53.6% compared to 2023, reflecting the growing role that the emirate plays in the global car trade movement.
Last August, the DB World reinforced its logistical capabilities to serve the auto sector in Jebel Ali Port, by launching a new square to store vehicles at the “container 4” station, extending over an area of 2.6 million square feet, and the company is currently working on developing the largest car market in the world, on an area of 20 million square feet.
