The IMF reduces global growth expectations to 2.8% in 2025

Washington on September 25 / WAM / The International Monetary Fund announced its expectations for global growth to 2.8% for 2025 and 2.0% for the year 2026, warning that the prospects for growth over the next five years are the “weakest decades”.
In its annual report, the fund attributed this slowdown to an economic environment that is uncertaining to uncertainty, as a result of the escalation of commercial tensions, rapid technological transformations, climate changes, and the repercussions of geopolitical conflicts.
The Fund stressed that the biggest challenge facing member states is to achieve growth, stressing that the solution begins from within through effective economic policies, including increasing competitiveness, encouraging entrepreneurship, simplifying tax systems, and improving digital and organizational structure.
