The Ministry of Health and Community Protection launched an integrated national plan to support the health of the elderly, which includes the national awareness campaign to enhance the health of the elderly under the slogan “Your mind is close … your presence and protection”, which lasts for a month, in conjunction with the inauguration of the national framework for age in the health and sponsorship of 2025-2031, and a group of leading national initiatives that focus on consolidating the quality of the elderly and prevention of dementia, within the efforts of the ministry With partners to spread the concepts of healthy progress, and strengthen family and community interdependence with the elderly, which establishes the values ​​of solidarity and cohesion in the year of society.

This came during the event organized by the Ministry in Dubai in the presence of Dr. Hussein Al -Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector in the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, as well as representatives of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Family, the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health, the Emirates Health Services Foundation, and Dubai Health, in addition to a number of joint -stock authorities in the campaign.

Protect the elderly

The campaign aims to enhance societal awareness of the importance of early detection of functional or physiological and mental changes associated with aging, and providing a supportive environment that contributes to reducing social isolation and working to promote mental health, in addition to establishing the role of the family and society in caring for the elderly and preserving their dignity, as well as encouraging preventive tests and spreading sustainable health behaviors.

The campaign is based on extensive national partnerships, to ensure the integration of governmental and societal efforts to achieve a comprehensive impact that contributes to the sustainability of building a cohesive healthy society that establishes the role of man in development and confirms the health of the elderly as a basic axis in the march of social welfare and the quality of life.

Healthy aging

The Ministry also launched the “National Framework for Age in Health and Care 2025-2031”, in cooperation with a number of concerned authorities, which targets the age group from 60 years and over, with the aim of ensuring healthy aging by providing integrated health, social and psychological care, and promoting the quality of life and community participation for the elderly, while preserving their dignity and independence, based on the global plan to enjoy health in the aging stage issued by The World Health Organization, to keep pace with the future trends of the state, the most prominent of which is the UAE Centennial Vision 2071, and the national health targets for the next fifty years.

Ambassadors of long life

The Ministry announced the launch of the “Health and Life Ambassadors” initiative in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health and the Ministry of Sports, which falls under the national framework for age in health and sponsorship of 2025-2031, and is one of the executive tools of the framework, and seeks to enhance societal awareness of the importance of adopting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, and supporting the state’s efforts in increasing awareness of the concepts of healthy progress, by training a group of individuals committed to following a lifestyle. Healthy and socially active in the middle of their age, from various emirates of the country, to become ambassadors to spread positive health messages, and represent real models for age in a healthy manner.

Dr. Hussein Al -Rand stressed that the launch of this integrated plan to enhance the health of the elderly is a strategic station that translates the state’s commitment to enhancing the health of society and ensuring the well -being of all its members in the various ages, within the directions of the general community that focuses on family cohesion and societal integration as a solid national value, indicating that the elderly are the living memory of the country, the balance of experience and experience, and they deserve to provide them with all The ingredients for a decent life, from integrated health care to effective community participation, within the framework of the national and societal commitment in which everyone participates.

He added: The Ministry of Health and Community Protection attaches the utmost importance to take care of the elderly, which reflects positively on the well -being and the quality of life in which society is blessed, and embodies the leadership of the health system in providing innovative and sustainable services that respond to the needs of the present and the future, and is in line with the best global practices. Also, these qualitative efforts meet the aspirations of the “UAE 2031” vision, which confirms that the welfare of man and the quality of his life are essential pillars for sustainable development.
