Hamas agreed in principle to the American proposal to end the Gaza war

Informed sources confirmed to the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz”, that Hamas has initially agreed to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza supported by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
The immediate release of all Israeli hostages includes in exchange for the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip, and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
The sources stated that Qatar played a role in pushing Hamas to agree to the framework of the agreement, while Trump is planning to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Monday, to finish the touches on the plan.
She explained that Doha is expected to provide an official message signed by Hamas confirming its approval of the deal.
The American proposal stipulates that Hamas will be launched for all hostages in exchange for Israel’s release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, among them who are sentenced to life imprisonment and others.
The data, according to “Haaretz”, indicates that Israel is currently holding 289 Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment, and 59 others with sentences exceeding 30 years, in addition to 1407 prisoners who were sentenced to sentences, and about 4,800 detainees under detention or trial.
Reconstruction plan
Parallel to efforts to end the war, Washington is working on a plan to rebuild Gaza, a plan that has been repeatedly presented during the past two years, including during the mandate of former President Joe Biden.
The plan aims to involve Arab countries in financing and managing reconstruction efforts.
The sources indicate that the agreement will obligate Israel to abandon any plans to include, destroy, or displace its residents, while Hamas will be stripped of its political authority in the Strip without achieving the goal of “complete eliminating the movement”, which has long been promoted by the Israeli government.
Changing the American position
According to 3 sources, he told “Haaretz”, the shift in Hamas’s position came after an Israeli attack in the Qatari capital, Doha, on September 9, prompting the American special envoy Steve Witkev to intensify his diplomatic efforts to end the war.
According to the sources, the United States is aware that continuing to give Netanyahu the time to launch its operations in Gaza leads to destabilizing the region and harming its allies, which led it to reset its position.
Reports indicated that the most important progress that was achieved is the initial approval of Hamas to release all the hostages, without the requirement to keep a number of them as a pressure card, which was previously rejected by the movement.
