The UAE and the United States enhance the prospects for strategic partnership in the economic and technological fields

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, visited the US capital, Washington, during which he and the accompanying delegation met with J.D. Vance, US Vice President, Scott Besant, US Secretary of the Treasury, Howard Lutnick, US Secretary of Commerce, and Jacob Helberg, Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, in addition to a number of members of the US Congress, in the framework of enhancing Emirati-US economic and technological cooperation, and the “Artificial Intelligence Acceleration Partnership” between the two countries, which was launched during the state visit of US President Donald Trump to the UAE. United Nations and his meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him.” Discussions during the meetings dealt with opportunities to enhance joint cooperation and push bilateral relations towards broader horizons.
The two sides reviewed the paths of progress achieved within the joint UAE-US economic and technological cooperation over the past year, with the aim of continuing ongoing efforts to enhance the horizons of cooperation and accelerate the achievement of strategic goals in various vital sectors of common interest.
On this occasion, Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, said: “The economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America are based on solid foundations of mutual trust and joint growth. Today, despite the regional and economic challenges, this partnership continues to achieve tangible achievements across various vital sectors and economic opportunities with a long-term impact. We are also working together to accelerate the development of technology and energy infrastructure, which contributes to expanding the scope of joint economic and technological investments.”
During the meetings, the two sides highlighted the UAE’s plan to invest $1.4 trillion in the American economy over ten years, in a number of strategic sectors of common interest. It includes energy, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology, in addition to driving progress in the “Artificial Intelligence Acceleration Partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.”
The two sides also reviewed the levels of progress achieved in the field of joint UAE-US economic and technological cooperation, which exceeded the targets of its first year, which reflects the growing priority of joint cooperation, and the ability of the UAE to transform strategic partnerships into qualitative, high-impact projects that drive long-term economic growth.
The artificial intelligence sector is a major focus of this cooperation, as leading national companies such asMGX and G42 In employing qualitative investments that extend across the artificial intelligence system; Including advanced semiconductors, large-scale AI infrastructure, and advanced AI and application laboratories.
In the same context, the UAE and the United States are working to expand the scope of this technological system at the global level, starting with the “Emirati-American Artificial Intelligence Complex” in Abu Dhabi, which is considered the largest of its kind outside the United States of America, with a capacity of 5 gigawatts, and its first phase, with a capacity of 500 megawatts, is expected to enter into operation before the end of this year.
In the energy sector, leading Emirati companies, such as ADNOC, XRG, and Masdar, contributed to concluding and strengthening prominent American partnerships in the sectors of power generation and energy infrastructure.
In the advanced manufacturing sector, Emirates Global Aluminum is continuing to implement its plans to establish an aluminum smelter, the first of its kind in the United States in nearly half a century, in the state of Oklahoma, which reflects the expansion of the presence of Emirati companies globally, and their ability to contribute to the development of strategic industries and the strengthening of global value chains.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Mubadala Investment Company, and Al Emad Holding Company (Emad) are also strengthening their investment presence in the United States. By employing strategic investments in a number of key sectors, to support the achievement of long-term economic diversification goals.
