Egypt recovers 4 rare antiquities from America

Cairo, June 6, 2017 – Egypt has recovered 4 rare artifacts from the United States of America dating back to different historical periods of ancient Egyptian civilization.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that this comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by Egypt to restore its antiquities that were removed illegally, to protect its cultural heritage and preserve its cultural identity.

The statement explained that one of the most prominent pieces recovered was the head of a granite statue wearing a royal headdress dating back to the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom.
