The conclusion of the World Digital Trade Exhibition in China and a successful participation of the Emirates

Hangzhou on September 29/ WAM/ The activities of the fourth session of the World Digital Trade Exhibition in Hangzhou, China’s China Province, were concluded today, Monday, after five days of various offers and events, which witnessed the participation of more than 1700 local and international companies, including 360 international companies representing about 21% of the total participants.

The UAE participated as an official honor guest of the exhibition, along with the Republic of Indonesia, and its choice as an honor guest for the first time reflects its universal premium position in the field of digital transformation and enhancing the knowledge economy, and its pivotal role in enhancing global partnerships in digital trade.

The current session of the exhibition was held at the Hangzhou Center for Great Conferences and Exhibitions, on a total area of ​​about 155 thousand square meters, to be the largest exhibition since its inception in 2022.

The activities of this course shed light on digital innovations in the sectors of artificial intelligence, digital health, virtual reality, e -commerce, digital economy, cybersecurity, as well as the smart city.

More than 8 main activities and 34 sub -and investment events were organized, most notably the international cooperation forums in digital trade, the effectiveness of e -commerce on the Silk Road, and special sessions with the “BRICS” countries.

Through its participating national pavilion, the UAE presented its most prominent projects in the fields of digital economy, financial technology, artificial intelligence, and smart innovations.

Abdullah Al -Bashha Al -Naimi, the commercial attaché of the UAE in the People’s Republic of China, stressed that the state’s participation in the global exhibition is a strategic step that reflects the depth of economic relations between the UAE and China, and enhances the state’s presence as a pivotal player in the global digital economy.
He said that the demand for the Emirati pavilion was great and remarkable by specialized visitors and officials of the Chinese government and private agencies, noting that the pavilion included ten exhibitors representing the most prominent national and private institutions in the field of digital transformation, and it received wide coverage from the Chinese media and a special interest in the Emirati experience in building an advanced digital infrastructure.

He added that digital trade in the UAE has witnessed qualitative leaps in recent years, in light of the national strategy for the digital economy aimed at raising the sector’s contribution to 20% of the non -oil domestic product by 2031, stressing that China is a major partner in this path, because of its expertise and advanced capabilities in this vital sector.

He explained that the Emirati -Chinese economic relations have witnessed a qualitative shift during the past years, as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries has doubled more than 800 times since the establishment of relations 41 years ago, while the volume of trade exchange of oil exceeded 50 billion dollars during the first half of the year 2025, an increase of 15.6% compared to the same period in the previous year, explaining that the two sides aspire to raise this number to 200 billion dollars during the next five years.

He pointed out that the presence of more than 16.5 thousand Chinese companies currently operating in the UAE, compared to 15.5 thousand companies during the year 2024, confirms the attractiveness and flexibility of the Emirati business environment, and reflects the confidence of the Chinese business community in the country as a starting point for regional markets in the Middle East and Africa.

For their part, officials in the exhibition said that the UAE played a prominent role in strengthening international partnerships in the fields of digital trade, in light of the development of its digital infrastructure and increasing the contribution of the digital economy to GDP.

This session comes as a culmination of the march of the exhibition, which has become a leading annual platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in the fields of digital trade and modern technology, amid increasing interest by international institutions in this vital field.
