Suhail Al Mazrouei: Economic and development benefits for the National Railways Program exceeding 200 billion dirhams
Abu Dhabi, September 29/ WAM/ His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said that the UAE government has attached the land transport sector, especially railways, a central importance of the fifty projects, so it launched the “National Railways Program” in 2021 with investments of 50 billion dirhams to form the largest system of its kind at the state level.
His Excellency added, in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, on the occasion of the launch of the Global Rail exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi tomorrow, that this investment constitutes an integrated vision to achieve economic and development benefits of more than 200 billion dirhams and reduce carbon emissions, as well as promoting traffic safety by the Emirates Centennial 2071.
He pointed out that the railway is an essential pillar in achieving the targets of the strategic initiative of climate neutrality 2050, as it provides a more sustainable and efficient alternative to land transport that enhances the quality of life and promotes the consent of society, pointing out that the UAE continues to invest in the future Tomorrow’s solutions.
His Excellency said that the Global Exhibition and Conference on Railways, Transport and Infrastructure Global Rail 2025 constitutes a leading international platform for cooperation, exchanging experiences and foresight, and comes a direct reflection of the directives of rational leadership, and this directive always emphasizes the importance of enhancing sustainable development and adopting innovative solutions that achieve a balance between economic growth and environmental protection, in a way that establishes the position of the UAE Certain in launching quality projects and their leadership in the fields of transportation and future infrastructure.
He added that this global event has a generous sponsorship of the rational leadership, which reflects the strategic position occupied by the transportation sector in the state’s priorities and the leadership’s keenness to support national efforts aimed at building an integrated system for sustainable transport, and strengthening the Emirates site is a global platform for innovation and development in the fields of railways and infrastructure.
