I support the plan to end the Gaza war
“Today is a historic day for peace,” said US President Donald Trump, noting that he is optimistic about obtaining a “positive answer” from Hamas about his plan to end the war in Gaza.
“Today is a historic day for peace,” Trump said, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He added: “We have reached important agreements, including Iran, trade, and the expansion of Abrahamic agreements, and most importantly, how to end the war in Gaza, and this is part of the eternal peace in the Middle East.”
He continued: “I thank Netanyahu for his approval of this plan, which will open a new page of prosperity for the region … and I thank the proposals of the Arab and Islamic countries and European allies to develop the current proposal for peace.”
He stressed: “We are very close to reaching a peace agreement on the Gaza Strip … If Hamas agrees to the proposal, the hostages will be released within 72 hours.”
He highlighted: “The Arab and Islamic countries pledged to disarm from Gaza and disarm Hamas and all other terrorist organizations immediately, and we are counting on these countries in dealing with Hamas … and according to what I heard, Hamas also wants to achieve this.”
And the American president added, “I have a feeling that we will have a positive answer from Hamas … and if that does not happen, Israel will have full support on my part.”
He continued: “Netanyahu strongly opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state and I understand that … Netanyahu is a warrior and Israel is lucky to exist, but the people want peace.”
He also revealed: “I negotiated the conclusion of the Abrahamic agreements, and the two plans to expand them and Iran may join it … Iran’s accession will be great.”
For his part, Netanyahu stated: “Now, we take a pivotal step to end the war in Gaza and establish the ground to bring peace to the Middle East.”
He added: “I support your plan (Trump) to end the war in Gaza, which has achieved our military targets, as well as returning the hostages to Israel, dismantling Hamas’s military capabilities, political rule, and ensuring that Gaza does not threaten the security of Israel again.”
He explained: “Your plan is compatible with the five points that my government set to end the war and for the next day after Hamas.”
The Israeli Prime Minister stated: “If Hamas rejects or violates the plan, then Israel will end itself … in an easy or difficult way.”
He continued: “The plan provides a realistic path to Gaza … Israel will withdraw from the Gaza Strip in line with the amount of enthusiasm of its weapons in the Strip … and Israel will retain responsibility for security in Gaza after the war.”
“This plan may be a new horizon for Gaza and a new start for the region.”
