A student was killed and 98 were injured, while 7 children are still under the ruins of the “Al -Khuzini” Islamic School, which collapsed in the city of Sidwaro, in the eastern province of the Indonesian.

“The total number of victims is still unknown. Initial data was searched, 98 people were found alive, and one person died,” the website “Detic” quoted search and rescue services in Surabaya as saying.

The source added that 7 students are still being held under the ruins of the prayer room in the Islamic Interior School, and that their output operations are continuing.

For his part, he appealed to the administration of the Islamic Interior School, Hajj Abdel Salam Mujib, everyone to be patient. He also indicated that he had not yet taken a decision regarding the possibility of temporarily suspending the internal school activities as a result of this unfortunate incident.

The families of the students gathered in hospitals or near the collapsed building, pending the news of their children with concern. He heard the screams of relatives watching the rescue teams transporting an injured and dust student from the collapsed prayer hall.

The agency reported the official news, “Antara”, quoting an eyewitness that more than 100 students had gathered to perform the afternoon prayer when the building consisting of several floors suddenly collapsed.

“The rescue teams evacuated at least 79 injured people from the collapse accident at the Al -Khuzaini Islamic Interior School in the town of Sidwaro,” the official spokesman for the East Java Police, Gulls Abraham Abast, told correspondents.

He added that the authorities are working to determine the number of victims who are still stuck in the accident site, with the possibility of the death toll in the accident after the rescue workers confirmed that they would watch the bodies under the ruins of the collapsed building.
