A slight decrease in the rate of inflation in Austria during September

Manuella Link, head of the Austrian Statistics Authority, attributed one of the most important reasons for the high rate of inflation to the cancellation of government support for energy, which caused an increase in energy costs by 7.9% in September compared to last year, and by 5.9% compared to last August.

She pointed to the impact of the prices of the services sector, which increased by 4.7%, compared to an annual basis and is still a major factor in continued inflation rates high in Austria.

The report of the Austrian Statistics Authority indicated that a slowdown in food rate increases, beverages and tobacco has occurred with an increase in the prices of these commodities by 3.8% in September, compared to 5% in August and the increase in the prices of industrial goods in a less severe way, by 1.4% compared to August, which recorded an increase of 2.2%, in light of the continued suffering of Austria from high inflation rates compared to the countries of the euro region, while it is targeted. The European Central Bank reduced the inflation rate to less than 2.0%.
