Abu Dhabi Police enhances awareness of the dangers of drugs for Emirates University students

Abu Dhabi, October 4/ WAM/ Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Anti -Narcotics Administration in Al Ain Directorate, organized an awareness lecture entitled “A conscious family … a safe community” in the Great Hall of the Hilal Building at the United Arab Emirates University, in the presence of a number of faculty and administrative staff and students.
Brigadier Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, Director of the Drug Enforcement Directorate, stressed the Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to enhance security education and prevent drugs between various segments of society, especially university students as an important group in building the future, noting that the lecture comes in conjunction with the general community.
Colonel Dr. Salem Obaid Al -Amri, Director of the Anti -Narcotics Department in Al Ain, discussed, during the lecture, the concept of drugs, its types, the reasons for abuse, and the most prominent behaviors indicating the user, and he explained that the love of experience and emptiness, the absence of the role of the family and the bad companions .. It ensures complete secrecy.
He reviewed the prevention and support programs such as “Hope opportunity” and the National Rehabilitation Center, and provided awareness brochures to students who interacted with the subject of the lecture, and in the end Dr. Muhammad bin Huwaiden, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, honored Abu Dhabi Police in appreciation of its efforts in promoting societal awareness.
