The UAE celebrates “World Teacher Day” in appreciation of its role in the renaissance of society and building the future

The UAE is sharing the celebration of the “World Teacher Day”, which coincides with the fifth of October of each year, in appreciation of the efforts of teachers and their pivotal role in promoting the values ​​of innovation and creativity, and contributing to the development of societies and building future.

Teachers in the UAE receive great attention and appreciation, in their role in the renaissance of society, by creating an aware and educated generation that carries the highest moral values ​​and humanitarian principles.

On February 28 of each year, the UAE celebrates the “Emirati Day for Education”, in order to celebrate the importance of education in the country, its pivotal role in its development, and in gratitude and appreciation to all those in charge of the educational system.

The “Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best Teacher”, one of the institutions of Zayed Humanitarian Heritage, is a cognitive radiance and a milestone in its style in revealing creative and distinguished teachers in their schools, regions and countries, no matter how far away distances, in appreciation and honor of their noble educational efforts and their inexhaustible giving.

Since its inception in 2017, the award has been keen on the integration of its aspects, and the accuracy of its standards and goals, to highlight the best image and come up with systematic perceptions capable of providing effectiveness in performance and in the envisaged results.

The award launched, last August, in coordination with the Emirates College of Educational Development, a qualitative development program called “Executive Educational Excellence Pioneers”, with the aim of enabling a group of winning teachers, enhancing their role in leading educational change and creating a positive impact, armed with the best educational skills and tools and the finest practices used globally.

The program contributes to enabling teachers and educators from the practices and methods of modern education, supported by technology and artificial intelligence, and enhances the principles of life learning, creativity, innovation, and scientific research. This elite of the teachers who won the Mohammed bin Zayed Prize for the best teacher, which establishes the role of the teacher and his efforts in supporting school societies, and reshapes the concepts of educational excellence.

For its part, the “Khalifa Educational Prize”, one of the institutions of the Zayed Human Human Foundation, aims to support educational and educational institutions inside and outside the country, and increase creativity in it.

The General Secretariat of the award announced last July, the launch of the activities of its nineteenth session 2025-2026, which includes 10 areas distributed over 17 categories at local, Arab and international levels, and the requests of candidates continue to be accepted through the website until December 31, 2025.

The award has succeeded since the start of its career in the year 2007 in expanding the awareness base of the importance and role of excellence is an essential pillar of the development of education and improving its quality.

In turn, the Hamdan – UNESCO Prize for the Development of Teachers’ Performance embodies the UAE’s firm commitment to supporting education and teachers at the international level.

The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), on September 8, announced the opening of the nominations for the new session (2025-2026) of the award.

In addition to honoring the distinguished, the award motivates educational institutions and teachers to continue to develop teaching methods, and to create new solutions to the challenges facing education globally, as it aspires through its partnership with UNESCO to build an international network of experts, teachers and institutions, which contributes to raising the level of education and enhancing its role in achieving sustainable development.

The award is awarded every two years, and the winners are chosen through an independent international jury consisting of 5 prominent experts in the field of education, which are appointed by the Director General of UNESCO and the committee takes into account the representation of various geographical regions in the world, and the three winners of the new session of the award will be honored during an official celebration in conjunction with the International Teacher Day on October 5, 2026 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The third session of the annual meetings of the UAE government in 2019 is a milestone in terms of launching initiatives that targeted the appreciation, empowerment and motivation of the teacher in the country.

The initiatives focused on supporting and empowering the teacher in the Emirati school system, enhancing his specialized and professional capabilities, and appreciating his national efforts in preparing a generation that keeps pace with challenges and requirements for future skills to ensure a decent life for future generations.

In October 2022, the Emirates School Education Foundation launched the initiative of education councils for school leaders, teachers and teachers in public schools, with the aim of involving the educational field in the process of developing the educational system and decision -making, and benefiting from the field experiences in this field, in a way that elevates the state’s aspirations and achieves its goals and goals in the education sector.
