102.9 million passengers across the Emirates airports within 8 months

The UAE celebrates the “Emirates Civil Aviation Day”, which falls on the fifth of October of each year, based on a series of distinguished achievements achieved by the national aviation sector, and its pivotal role as one of the most prominent shareholders in the global aviation industry.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, this year comes to form an exceptional station after the state won the membership of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAW) for the seventh time in a row, in a new confirmation of the influential presence of the state in formulating the future of civil aviation policies at the international level.
During the first eight months of 2025, the state airports received about 102.9 million passengers, achieving a growth rate of 5.3% compared to 97.9 million passengers during the same period in 2024, reflecting the sustainability of growth and the high competitiveness of the sector.
“The Emirati aviation sector celebrates this year with multiple and exceptional achievements, not only at the local level, but globally, as state airports continue to grow and provide advanced services to travelers from all over the world.
He added that «in Dubai, which embraces the most crowded airports in the world, the volume of huge operations run by Dubai International Airport and Dubai and World Central – Al Maktoum International, reflects the efficiency of the air transport system and its ability to absorb the growth of the number of passengers, with a continuous investment in infrastructure, innovation and smart technologies, and Dubai remains a model for excellence and leadership in the civil aviation industry, including It enhances the UAE’s ability to compete globally and achieve the long -term sustainability of the sector.
For his part, the Minister of Economy and Tourism, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, said that “the Day of Civil Aviation this year is gaining special importance, as it coincides with another historical achievement for our sector, so re -election of the UAE for membership of the (ICAO) Council for the seventh time in a row reflects the international appreciation for the leadership of the state and its strategic vision, and its continuous investments in national cadres, infrastructure and global partnerships,” expressing On pride in what has been achieved, stressing the commitment to continue to enhance safety, sustainability and innovation in the global aviation sector.
For his part, the head of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Muhammad Ali Al -Shurafa, said that “the celebration of the UAE Civil Aviation Day, which falls on the fifth of October of each year, is an occasion to express pride in the achievement of the national aviation sector, and the competitive position achieved by the UAE. In Abu Dhabi, Zayed International Airport continues to provide a global travel experience, supported by ongoing development projects to expand its capabilities, in addition to projects in the rest of the emirate’s airports, which reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to safety, quality and sustainable growth of the sector.
For his part, the Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saif Muhammad Al -Suwaidi, affirmed that “in 2025 it is already an exceptional year for the UAE aviation march, besides our victory in the elections of (ICAO) Council, the sector continues to show its flexibility and growth, based on contracts of achievements, and the civil aviation day reminds us of the importance of cooperation, innovation and vision in building a safe and sustainable future for air transport in the UAE and at the level the world”.
The celebrations of this year reflect the strategic role that the UAE plays in supporting the global aviation industry, its growing impact on the regional and international levels, and its continuous career towards consolidating excellence and sustainable growth of this vital sector.
