The Emirates hosts"The World Conference for Conservation of Nature 2025" Tomorrow with the participation of ministers and scholars

Abu Dhabi, October 7/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates has completed preparations to welcome the world at the World Conference for the Conservation of Nature 2025, hosted by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Environment Authority – Abu Dhabi from 9 to 15 October, to embody the legacy of the ancient state in the field of nature preservation, and its vision in providing collective solutions based on science to face the challenges of biological diversity.
The conference will be held with the participation of ministers, scholars and leaders of indigenous peoples, youth, representatives of civil society and the private sector, to be one of the largest global forums devoted to preserving nature.
The main speakers during the media meeting that were held today in the “Atheer” studio on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of a number of media representatives, provided details about the conference, and discussed the need for joint work between various sectors and the importance of taking urgent and cooperative measures.
The speakers affirmed the UAE pivotal role in preserving nature, preserving the environment and enhancing the principles of sustainability, as it is a basic pillar to ensure a safer and more prosperous future for future generations.
With the approaching 2030 and the endeavors to achieve the goals of the global framework for biological diversity “Kunming-Montreal”, the goals of the sustainable development of the United Nations, and the global climate goals, the conference is expected to witness the launch of qualitative initiatives that contribute to the formulation of future international environmental policies.
The UAE hosting this global event reflects an extended march for more than half a century in the field of environmental protection, which is rooted in the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, as the state today continues its leadership in protecting endangered species, resettling them, and restoring environmental systems, in addition to its commitment to sustainable innovation, starting from its ambitious program to cultivate 100 million Crimea tree by 2030, leading to the development of advanced climate technology platforms and the launch of modern marine research ships.
The conference program accompanies the size of the aspirations and speed required to counter the crises interconnected with the loss of biological diversity and sustainable development.
The most prominent stations include the issuance of the updated version of the red list of endangered species of the International Federation for the Protection of Nature, the launch of a new European red list for the pollina, in addition to reviewing the latest World Heritage expectations.
The conference is witnessing the presentation of prestigious international prizes in the field of environmental preservation, which includes the Collidge Memorial Medal, John C Medal, Philips Memorial Medal and International Guard awards, in appreciation of the distinguished contributions to protecting environmental systems around the world.
The Association of members of the International Federation for the Protection of Nature to discuss and vote more than 200 proposals, which contributes to determining the priorities of preserving the global environment for the next contract.
His Excellency Heba Obaid Al -Shehhi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Biological Diversity Sector and Aquaculture in the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, said that the UAE’s commitment to nature is firm and rooted and starts from the immortal legacy that was established by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless him, who instilled in us that our prosperity is a reflection of the health of our land and our sailor and our environment, Our desert environment how we work in harmony with nature, and formed a deep understanding of how it supported our path, and from this standpoint, our hosting of the World Conference for Conservation of Nature comes as a pivotal platform to enhance international cooperation and unify visions to accelerate the transformation towards a positive economy of nature.
Her Excellency added that the World Conference for the Preservation of Nature will witness the culmination of urgent global calls to protect and restore environmental systems, by developing a firm global commitment and this international forum guarantees that preserving nature remains at the top of global priorities, embodying an eternal truth that “as much as we took care of our nature, we have given us a greater giving.”
For her part, His Excellency Dr. Sheikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary -General of the Environment Authority – Abu Dhabi, Regional Adviser to the International Federation for Nature Conservation in the West Asian region, Vice President of the World Council for the 14th goal of sustainable development, said that the Abu Dhabi March and the UAE in the field of environmental preservation is a global model in flexibility and innovation, and our deep belief reflects that preserving biological diversity is a shared responsibility On the nature of a pivotal station to convert obligations into practical steps, and combine the experiences of authentic peoples and the ideas of pioneering innovators to formulate a positive future of nature.
Her Excellency added that this conference highlights our firm convictions that international cooperation is the way to ensure a prosperous planet for all forms.
In turn, Dr. Grieth Aguilar, Director General of the International Federation of Nature Conservation, said that the United Arab Emirates will be a global platform for science -based solutions, policy -backed, and community participation and stressed that the conference represents a turning point, an opportunity to expand the scope of nature -based solutions, accelerate the implementation of the global framework of biological diversity, and enhance partnerships the world needs to ensure the prosperity of man and nature together.
The conference includes a prominent list of speakers, including His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; And His Excellency Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the International Federation for Nature Preservation; Dr. Grieth Aguilar, Director General of the International Federation for Conservation of Nature and Dr. David Oboras, Head of the International Governmental Forum for Science and Policy in the field of biological diversity and ecosystem services; And Alexandra Yabanki, activist in the Andes and editor -in -chief of Sabins Magazine; Eric Jing, Chairman and CEO of the “You” Group.
Other environment ministers and leaders of international agreements will participate in the conference, to contribute together to formulate the international dialogue and inspire the next generation of international environmental leaders.
In addition to the main sessions of the conference, the activities will include high -level discussion episodes, specialized forums and ministerial meetings, through which the UAE highlights its entrepreneurial initiatives in achieving sustainable development goals (6, 13, 14 and 15).
These initiatives cover a wide range that starts from innovative blue carbon projects and the restoration of Crimea’s forests, through the development of marine sciences and sustainable fish fisheries, up to wildlife resettlement programs.
The program presents how the model of the World Council for the Sustainable Development Goals of the UAE enhances cooperation between various sectors, and to align the preservation of biological diversity with the needs of human development, while developing policies based on evidence and setting new criteria for international cooperation.
The UAE pavilion will be a living platform that embodies the legacy of the country and its leadership in protecting the environment, combining science, traditions and innovation.
The pavilion displays prominent initiatives, including the protection of endangered species, the restoration of coastal and marine systems, the empowerment of youth, and the participation of authentic knowledge along with future solutions.
Interactive objective spaces provide a journey that highlights the path of the UAE towards building positive economies for nature, ground protection and effective sea across protected areas, environmental education, and youth leadership, in addition to global transformational partnerships in the field of biological diversity that contribute to the formulation of international policies.
The conference will witness the meeting of the “Association of Member” in the presence of more than 1,400 members of the International Federation for the Preservation of Nature, which will be approved on proposals through which the features of environmental policies and collective work for the coming years.
Within the event, a series of high -level summits that deal with central issues such as biological diversity, climate and sustainable development are organized, to confirm the role of the UAE as a platform for building bridges and enhancing global consensus, and pushing partnerships and practical solutions forward.
With the world meeting in the United Arab Emirates to attend this historic event, the conference reaffirms that teamwork for nature is starting from here, which paves the way for a contract of accelerating solutions to ensure the health of our planet and the luxury of future generations.
