Sharjah Heritage Institute discusses enhancing cooperation with "General Directorate of Cultural Heritage" In Portugal

Sharjah, October 7/ WAM/ The delegation of the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, headed by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, head of the institute with officials of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Lisbon, which is the central government body concerned with the management and preservation of the national cultural heritage in Portugal areas of cooperation between the two sides, especially in the field of preserving the unnecessary cultural heritage and exchanging experiences in the field of folklore, traditional crafts and heritage celebrations besides discussing the prospects of cooperation in Restoration and preservation projects and heritage holdings in order to enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two institutions.
Al -Muslim stressed the importance of the meeting in terms of opening new horizons for cultural cooperation between Sharjah and Portugal, noting that the Sharjah Heritage Institute as a second -category center under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is always seeking to build international partnerships that contribute to enhancing global efforts to protect and its cultural heritage.
For their part, officials of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Portugal, in cooperation with the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, welcomed his role in supporting Arab culture and joint human heritage and expressed their willingness to develop programs to document and exchange joint experiences within the projects of UNESCO concerned with material and immunological heritage.
