The dollar maintains its level and tends to record its best week in almost a year

The dollar maintained its level today (Thursday) and is on its way to recording its best weekly performance in nearly a year.

On the other hand, the Japanese currency recorded a slight increase in the latest trading to 152.49 against the dollar.

The single currency, the euro, was last trading up 0.09 percent at $1.1639.

Movements in the yen and euro provided support for the dollar, which rose more than 1 percent during the week.

The British pound rose 0.07 percent to $1.3413.

While the Australian dollar rose 0.11 percent to $0.6594.

The New Zealand dollar rose 0.1 percent to $0.5792.

Against a basket of currencies, the dollar was little changed at 98.77.
