The International Monetary Fund lowers its global growth forecast to 3.1% in 2026 due to the Iran war


Expect International Monetary Fund Tuesday to suffer The global economy this year from the repercussions of War in the Middle East, indicating that overall growth will be limited to 3.1%, compared to previous expectations of 3.3%.

The United States is expected to be among the countries least affected economically by the conflict sparked by its joint attack with Israel on Iran on February 28. The Fund expected US growth of 2.3% in 2026, 0.1 percentage point lower than its previous forecast in January.
