The deal to exchange hostages and detainees will not include Marwan Barghouti

An Israeli government spokeswoman confirmed that the deal to exchange Israeli hostages and Palestinian detainees within the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip will not include the prominent leader of the Fatah movement, Marwan Barghouti.

In response to a question during a press conference about Barghouti’s fate, Shosh Bedrosian said: “At this stage, he will not be part of this exchange.”

Sources close to the negotiations had previously reported that Hamas was demanding that Barghouti be part of the two thousand detainees that Israel would release within the framework of the first phase agreement of Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza.
