Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy launches "Dubai guide for startups"

Dubai, October 11, 2017 – The Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, launched the “Dubai Startup Guide” with the aim of providing a comprehensive roadmap to enable entrepreneurs to establish their digital companies and expand their businesses by taking advantage of the advanced business system in Dubai.

The guide provides integrated guidance on the entrepreneurship environment in Dubai, with in-depth information on the main procedures for establishing companies specialized in the digital sectors, including legal requirements, licensing options, and available financing channels, in addition to regulations for the entities concerned with enabling emerging digital companies, in addition to a guide to accelerators, business incubators, technology experimentation laboratories, and free zones.

The “Dubai Startup Guide” includes the procedures required and options available for establishing companies in 12 major sectors of the digital economy and explains the specialized free zones, business accelerators and regulations relevant to each sector.

These sectors include 3D printing, agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital assets, education technology, financial technology, electronic games, medical technology, metaverse/Web 3, real estate technology “PropTech”, and software as a service, reflecting the diversity of opportunities available in Dubai for innovators and entrepreneurs across various digital sectors. The launch of the guide complements the recent opening of the “Dubai Entrepreneurs Headquarters”, which constitutes a qualitative addition to the system of emerging, small and medium-sized companies in the emirate and is the first platform of its kind that combines the physical presence and the comprehensive digital system, to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and other owners of companies and supporting institutions under one roof.

The guide is designed to help entrepreneurs and innovators understand the evolving business landscape in Dubai, enable them to make informed decisions, and benefit from Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business center.

The guide provides detailed practical advice, digital resources, and recommendations for tailored support, enabling entrepreneurs to start or expand their projects in the emirate.

The launch of the report comes ahead of the launch of the Expand Northstar 2025 exhibition, the largest event for emerging companies in the world, which is organized by the Dubai World Trade Center and begins tomorrow and hosted by the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy. This year celebrates the tenth anniversary of its launch in 2016, confirming Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for the digital economy.
