Yedioth Ahronoth: The Israeli Prison Service received an order to release Palestinian prisoners

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Saturday that, within the framework of the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli Prison Service received an order to release Palestinian prisoners.
The newspaper explained that hundreds of officers began transferring prisoners from five different prisons across Israel to centers from which they are expected to be released.
According to the newspaper, they include: The deal releases about 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, and about 1,700 detainees from Gaza who were arrested after October 7, 2023.
For its part, Hamas is expected to release 20 Israeli detainees alive at once, 72 hours after the ceasefire took effect.
The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas entered into force yesterday afternoon, Friday. In Gaza, which prompted thousands of displaced people to return to their homes in the Strip, which was devastated by a two-year war.
