Male and female players: The Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship is an important milestone in preparation for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Championship

ABU DHABI, 11th October, 2018 (WAM) – A number of male and female jiu-jitsu players participating in the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which is hosted by the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and concludes its second season competitions tomorrow, Sunday, confirmed that the tournament is an important milestone in their sporting career, and an ideal preparation for competing in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship next month.

The players explained in their statements that the tournament, with its strong competition and wide participation throughout the season’s rounds, contributed significantly to raising their technical and physical readiness, and gave them an ideal opportunity to gain experience and achieve distinguished results that contribute to improving their international ranking.

For his part, Rashid Ahmed Al Marzouqi from the “MOD” Academy, who came in second place in his weight competition, said that he benefited greatly from competing in the championship competitions in all its rounds, stressing that his experience this season was rich in challenges and gains, which gave him a strong impetus to prepare with confidence and ambition to compete in the next world championship.

In turn, Nasser Al Marzouqi, a player for Al Jazira Club, expressed his happiness at being on the podium, praising the experience that he described as outstanding on the technical and organizational levels. He expressed his thanks to his coach for his continued support, and confirmed his intention to participate in the next world championship and move to the blue belt.

For his part, player Haitham Abdul Wahed, who has been participating in the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation championships for two years, said that the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Championship is one of the best tournaments he has participated in, because of the highly competitive environment it provides that allows him to express his true level, stressing that his next goal is to represent his country in the best way in the Abu Dhabi World Championship and obtain the blue belt.

Walid Al Suwaidi, who ranked third in the 94 kg competition, confirmed that the championship was one of the most difficult stages he participated in during the season, noting that it gave him sufficient confidence and the necessary experience, and he said that he is currently preparing to participate in the next world championship with great ambitions.

For her part, Shahad Khaled, a player in the Commando Group team and a purple belt holder, expressed her pride in reaching the final stage of the tournament, noting that the various rounds posed a real challenge in light of the strong competition to obtain classification points. She confirmed that she is enthusiastically preparing for her first participation in the professional category in the Abu Dhabi World Championship.

In turn, Kholoud Al Balushi from Al Ain Club, who won third place in the 70 kg weight category, confirmed that the competition was very strong, especially with the participation of players from the purple and blue belts, but she was able to achieve a positive result that strengthens her readiness to compete in the World Championship with confidence.

Shouq Mohammed Al Balushi, a participant in the same category, confirmed that the tournament represented an ideal opportunity to hone her technical and physical skills through the multiple rounds of the season, praising the distinguished organization and the strength of the technical level of all participants.
