The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture organized a specialized awareness lecture on the pivotal role of animal experiments in developing human vaccines and medicines, and the ethical challenges associated with them, within the framework of its programs aimed at Enhancing integration between the fields of human and veterinary medicine and supporting scientific research.

The lecture highlighted that Animal organs in veterinary medicine and their role in saving lives through tissue culture techniques.
The most important ethical challenges
On the other hand, the lecture discussed in detail the ethical challenges of these practices, as participants stressed the need to strictly adhere to international standards for animal welfare, and follow the principles of the “three alternatives”, which are: Replacement, reduction, and improvement, ensuring a balance between the inevitability of scientific progress and respect for living organisms.
In conclusion, the Ministry affirmed its keenness to support responsible scientific research and encourage cooperation between veterinary and medical research centers, in a way that serves the development of vaccines and medicines and protects Human and animal health, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building an integrated and sustainable health and environmental system.
